Rum Balls

Recipe file created June 2, 2004.
The aging process mellows these treats so they melt in your mouth.
Be sure to use vanilla wafers, not graham wafers. You will really notice
the difference in the texture.

Crush vanilla wafers into crumbs in blender or food processor to make about 2 cups.

Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Mix well.

Roll into one inch balls. Roll the balls in additional icing sugar, cocoa or ground nuts.

Refrigerate. Let sit for 3 days. Will keep for 2 weeks in fridge. Freezes well.

This recipe is also very good using Amaretto in place of the rum. Other liquers may be used also, but avoid any with a dairy base.
