CRA News Release: eBay Sales

The News Release reports: "As a result of a Federal Court of Canada decision, eBay Canada has provided the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) with the names of eBay sellers as well as their contact information and sales records."

What this means is, if you are an active seller on eBay, you have business income to declare. And where there is business income, there are business expenses

Missing T4 Slips

If you are missing a T-slip from the current tax year or any past tax year, you may be able to get a copy from the CRA. If they do not have it, you may have to file using an estimate of your income for the year.

Tax Free Savings Account

Have you set up your Tax Free Savings Account yet? All Canadian residents aged 18 and over should make an appointment with their banker to set one up. You will need your SIN and proof of birthdate (birth certificate or drivers license).
